2017 marks the fifth anniversary of my quest to read a book from every country in the world in a year.
The project was a life-changing experience. But I couldn’t have done it without the generosity of booklovers around the planet, who went to extraordinary lengths to help me achieve my goal. Many people sent me books, some translated things especially for me and one amazing woman in South Sudan even wrote a story so that I would have something to read from her new nation.
In celebration of this five-year milestone and as a thank you for all that kindness, in 2017 I am sending one book a month to a stranger anywhere in the world.
Anyone can apply to receive a book. Simply visit the project post and leave a comment telling me a bit about you and what you like to read. If you are chosen, I will use this information to choose a translated title that I hope you will enjoy and send it to you.
The recipient of each Postcard from my bookshelf is announced on the 15th day of every month. Here are the details of the winners so far:
- January – Laimpresionista
- February – Simon Litton
